Welcome Aboard

Welcome to my world! Please get comfy because you’ll be taken on many adventures that will allow you to vividly imagine yourself on each journey as if you were there with me. Passports are needed for a few layovers but keep all boarding passes handy.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context.
  • It allows me to provide much more details than what my social media platforms would allow me to share.
  • An outlet to help retain those nostalgic memories I’ve had in the past.
  • Grant me the ability to share my travels, opinions, and scrumptious eateries with you.
  • Because it will help you focus your ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The flights may take you to places like the United States Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Continental United States and much more.

See you at the baggage claim!

Bogle Vineyards 🍷

When people think of wine tasting, thoughts of long drives and expenses may occur. Well, I’m here to let you know that it may not always be that way. Bogle’s Vineyard offers FREE wine tasting and it is located in the delta of Sacramento which is only ~30mins from Downtown Sacramento.

Even though most wineries are away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life which then requires a decent drive (40+ mins), it allows you to bond with those you care about. Considering myself a newbie to the area, driving along the Sacramento River towards the winery was satisfying. The scene of the newly prepped fields, century-old homes and the nostalgic motion of the car ride soothed my worries away.

The ambiance and the staff were very inviting, friendly and knowledgable about the wines produced. There were wines exclusively available for members, which would not be found in stores. Luckily, I was accompanied by a member of the winery so I got the opinion of a non-bias party. Bogle Vineyards have earned several awards that other vineyards may not have accomplished.

When we arrived, I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been to two other wineries in California (Napa Valley) before, and it was very GRAND (post coming soon stay tuned). It was very relaxing, the sun was setting, and the wine was pouring. I’ve learned and confirmed that I am not a red wine 🍷 type of guy and I prefer the whites–maybe my pallet has not evolved yet 🤷.

Now, let’s talk about the drive back! The sunset was beautiful even though the chilling evening breeze swept in. Luckily, the weather decided to shift positvely. During this week, the weather was gloomy, rainy, and even cold. Below you can see some of the scenery that I enjoyed.

Images above were taken within a moving vehicle, pardon the slight blur 😬

Rio City Cafe

The first stop before we do anything is to EAT. This is one of the first restaurants that struck my curiosity ever since I first wander throughout Old Sacramento. It is ideally located on the edge of the Sacramento River with a scenic background view of the iconic Tower Bridge (I’ll show y’all keep reading).

After a few minutes of going back and forth trying to decide which restaurant to go to, we agreed upon Rio City Café. One of my friends told me that a must-have is their french toast. So what did I do? I ordered the breakfast combo which allowed you to choose their french toast.

Let me tell y’all about that weirdly shaped french toast that looks like a log! It was magically soft but yet it maintained a nice crisp at the edges of it. It was one of the best french toast I’ve eaten and I’ve eaten many french toasts throughout the country. Anyways continue reading below…

Now, to the right, you will see this beautifully sliced sourdough loaf with melted cheese perfectly in-between each square that sat in a rich balsamic vinegar 🤤. After viewing pictures of this item via google images—trying to get an idea of what these menu items look like—I decided that I have to try this.

When I shared what I was going to order, my brunch mates started saying, “you should get it Tre so we can try it too” then my face gradually turned into “🥴.” Nonetheless, my loving and caring spirit told me to go ahead and share. I shared a few squares and they too enjoyed it. I was mentally and physically satisfied with my meal. My waiter was very nice and especially helpful with questions we threw at him. Let’s not forget about the 🗣BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS, which were composed of high-quality champagne that was paired with your trusty ole orange juice. Some restaurants offer bottomless mimosas but to cut costs, they fail to use champagne that tastes good.

Overall, it was a successful brunch and boy did those mimosas hit right! 😂😆
