When people think of wine tasting, thoughts of long drives and expenses may occur. Well, I’m here to let you know that it may not always be that way. Bogle’s Vineyard offers FREE wine tasting and it is located in the delta of Sacramento which is only ~30mins from Downtown Sacramento.
Even though most wineries are away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life which then requires a decent drive (40+ mins), it allows you to bond with those you care about. Considering myself a newbie to the area, driving along the Sacramento River towards the winery was satisfying. The scene of the newly prepped fields, century-old homes and the nostalgic motion of the car ride soothed my worries away.
The ambiance and the staff were very inviting, friendly and knowledgable about the wines produced. There were wines exclusively available for members, which would not be found in stores. Luckily, I was accompanied by a member of the winery so I got the opinion of a non-bias party. Bogle Vineyards have earned several awards that other vineyards may not have accomplished.
When we arrived, I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve been to two other wineries in California (Napa Valley) before, and it was very GRAND (post coming soon stay tuned). It was very relaxing, the sun was setting, and the wine was pouring. I’ve learned and confirmed that I am not a red wine 🍷 type of guy and I prefer the whites–maybe my pallet has not evolved yet 🤷.
Now, let’s talk about the drive back! The sunset was beautiful even though the chilling evening breeze swept in. Luckily, the weather decided to shift positvely. During this week, the weather was gloomy, rainy, and even cold. Below you can see some of the scenery that I enjoyed.
